There are more and more liberties taken by manhuas artists when it comes to adapting novels these years, It used to annoy me a lot but now I just ignore these parts
In my head the canon ending of Cliff is the one he had in the novel, bittersweet but learning to love again and become his own person. It's not the ending the manhua artist invented because of whatever they thought knowing best about the character ╮(￣▽￣)╭
