Why are y'all surprised? Have y'all not looked at the cover? His brother was never in it so that should obviously tell you he was NEVER going to be who he ended up with. It's always in the cover baby. Unless it's a love triangle or otherwise, the cover will always show you. Even if the story adds a "love interest" they are not the endgame.
