I think it’s just him sucking, biting and licking him. As well as making out hard. And when he does that it makes a specific reaction in Hiyori because he’s human.

    You mean getting turned on?

It’s a little more than that it’s like an intense aphrodisiac effect. Still “eating” isn’t really any different than sex

i disagree with kuroe after reading this many, MANY times and reading all of the authors notes as well. I think its more of a mental thing and exerting a different kind of pressure, or desire. different from just arousal and more like a uniquely demonic...trait? not sure how else to describe it. think about how hodaka bites hiyori all the time, but it was only one instance in which he marked him. its more about intention than the action itself. does that make sense?

hence why they can make out and be intimate normally, but when hodaka starts thinking "I want to eat him," the nature of it changes. its the same on hiyoris end, where it can be normal, but when he feels hodakas pressure its like a mental switch is flipped from "making out" to "eating"

Sorry for being dense, but like what are they eating? His aura, desire, at this point I don’t think it’s cannibalism, right?

Probably his yin energy. In shamanism, demons can “eat” emotions, like anger, fear and also souls among others things. In this case, that would be lust or his fear of being “consumed”. Since the author never really delved into the world building, i suppose its up to us to fill in the blanks.
