Found it! It's called Kimi Iro Parasite. Looks like completed at 12 chapters but theres only 3 translated chaps
Definitely was a manga. Not sure if it was tagged as shojo or shonen-ai or both. Since it had a MC who had male freind that was possessive of him and wants to keep him isolated. The MC is seen as outcast by the rest of high school. But a girl starts to come into the picture to help the MC.
