Seo-an is projecting the thing he is most frustrated with in himself on his lover. So so easy for that to happen — with your partner, best friends, siblings — and can lead to you saying the most hurtful things imaginable to each other. They’ll come back from it I’m sure, author is clearly interested on how two people struggling with different serious challenges (panic/anxiety, depression/grief) come together. And that thing of trying to fix your lover’s life and mind for them because it seems so much more achievable to do than your own is REAL.

    but like lord. Hopefully he realizes that’s what he’s been doing soon, because he’s making his sweet boyfriend feel like crap when what he wants to do is make him feel taken care of. Which, ironically, is probably what his family often feel like they’re doing for HIM. And he hates them for it, justifiably!

    Also: the people who are getting too frustrated with the MC getting depressive and unmotivated, why were you reading the romance originally centered on working through someone’s panic disorder and agoraphobia in the first place if you can’t reckon with that kind of thing?
