I think some of the readers fear plot. They want Jo to go back to school and this isn't him but like is this not a love triangle with a Mafia plot? If he don't do anything he gets hates. If he do something, he is going to the "darkness" and if Ian let him shoot Jamie. They'll would be piss at him for allowing Jo to do that and now he doesn't let Jo do that and the people are still mad at Ian calling him a phony. Just pick a side...
