Nuance of LGBTQ dynamics often go over the heads of non-western people. Bi-erasure is so extremely common that it’s unintentional. “I don’t like men, but I like you.” Is a line used often by the ‘hetero’ love interest. It’s seen as ‘romantic’ but really it’s bi-erasure at its finest.
It’s because bisexuality is often seen as a promiscuous trait and characters in manga/manhwa that do identify as bi are usually portrayed as sluts who are later dick-matized into monogamy. It ignores the intricacies of the sexual and romantic spectrum by compartmentalizing sexuality into three acceptable quadrants “gay/lesbian, straight, and straight-but-you’re-the-exception” bisexuality is for sluts and asexual characters don’t exist. (there are a few mangas about asexuality but are extremely rare and are the focus of the manga. You may see ace coded characters in mainstream manga/manhwa plots but I’ve personally never seen one ‘come out’ as such)
Not all bisexuals like men and women equally. Preferences exist. It’s not 50/50. Sometimes it can be 90/10. Or it could be really specific like “all women are queens that I’ll date but I’ve only been interested in two men.” Or “I date muscle mommies and twinks. Nothing else.”
Exactly, hes not 100% hetero, hes Bisexual. If he was hetero he would've never agreed to this arrangement nor would he find pleasure in it. Sure he's only dated women but people need to discover themselves in order to know what they like and what they dont. Hes a late bloomer is all
as a fellow bisexual i agree with everything you said! its always you can either like men or women but you cannot like both. "100% hetero" is a crazy thing to say after we all just witnessed eunsan bouncing ravenously on another mans schlong and saying he misses him afterwards. come on dawg
