Really love this take on it!! It’s definitely more than ppl being either dumb and naive or guarded and not sympathetic, both Luke and Andrew can’t be put into those boxes. They’re clearly willing to see each others pov but knowing how they’ve been brought up (especially Andrew) that guardedness in him seems kinda hardwired. He’s had to be that way to keep himself safe, for Luke to challenge that and for them to have these conversations is good for both of them

I honestly, LOVED THIS FIGHT. Because it shows a very realistic issue that couples go through -- when the love is there between two incompatible people. Luke, who is a natural people person and gives the benefit of the doubt, and Andrew, a solitary figure who loves and hates in equal measure but is generally doubtful(frankly, just as realistic though).
IMO, they are both pretty valid. It's a good skill to be able to sympathize and have patience for others(something the world needs more of), but Andrew isn't completely wrong either. There's a lot of shitty ppl out there that dont give an f that theyre being shitty. Luke's compassion wouldn't fly there. In situations like these, i feel like either one or both parties have to mellow a bit, or agree to disagree.
