"purple head" likes the ml but the ml doesnt like him and just uses him as a "therapist" to talk abt the mc. But atp in the story "purple head" has given up on the ml and just listens to him yap against his will

FOR CHAPTER 38. Was purple head hitting on ML? Flirting? Does he like the ML? And what did ML mean?
I dropped it around chapter 38 and picked up on it, so I forgot some things before that chapter.
I don’t understand the conversation. Help!
ML said: “No, it’s fine, we are almost done eating anyway…and I’ll be bored waiting here by myself, so let’s just head up together.” (I assume he meant to get the documents, going together, did ML say it like that on purpose? Or meant nothing by it?)
Purple head: “Are you saying what I think you’re saying?” (Possibly hook up)
ML leaned in and made it seem like he was going to kiss the guy, but then brushed some lint off the guy, and said: “I admit I’m not squeaky clean either, I told you off just recently for something similar, so wouldn’t it be crappy of me if I came onto you like that right now?”
So he would have came onto the purple head if he hadn’t said whatever he said earlier? YALL IM SLOW OKAY, SOMEONE PLEASE SMARTIFY ME
Then purple head said: “He looks like that, but won’t take my bait.” (Looks like what, and can’t tell if he really likes ML or not)
In chapter 39, ML low-key praises him and he blushes.
