Personally I've been a hater of this since day 1 and i agree with you on some people being performative part but i think that's because at first it was sexual coercion and dub con (which was still wrong) but now it's clearly straight non con that's why the reaction.
It's so performative. Yes you can read a bl with non con and not support it but the rape started so early in the manhwa and I didn't see anyone complaining one bit and it happens multiple time throughout the story. Yes you can give critism towards these topics but like... really? Now? When it happens multiple time throughout the story?
