To be fair, according to chap 1/prologue he's been asleep for a long time. Plus, we could see he became unstable when uke went away + the plague that stroke the village. Bro couldn't have had the ability to keep his possessions/riches and it may have dwindled in time And he also don't have access to his castle(home) now when he woke up. I feel bad for him tbh
