yes he is very much in denial but a lot of it comes down to his past experience with relationships. he was basically used in a lot of his past relationships and kind of paraded around as a trophy. not only that, but he doesn’t want to kind of shake up the lifestyle he has rn, especially his work life, since getting involved with jaekyoung very much changes MANY things. he made a career and routine that works for him after leaving behind what he thought was going to be his life (swimming).
it’s not an easy decision for him because not only does it mean coming to terms with jaekyoung’s feelings for him, but his self-esteem (you will come to learn more about this soon), his feelings on romantic relationships in general, the power dynamic between him and jaekyoung, and also jaekyoung’s future as an athlete as well. as a former athlete, jiheon wants jaekyoung to succeed more than anything since jaekyoung reignited a lot of his passion for swimming.
plz give him a chance! once he realizes his feelings it will be so worth it (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ jiheon and jaekyoung are one of my all time fav bl couples. they are the sweetest couple ever (and a massive power couple at that).
People really have a lot of trouble with complex, imperfect characters, don’t they? Jiheon is just a complicated guy, he’s disillusioned, jaded, and yet has a strong (yet somewhat misguided) sense of responsibility. I’m not sure how old you are, but try to imagine some kid you hadn’t seen since they were 11 comes on this strong when you’re nearing 30–any *normal* person would be hesitant to just jump on that dick ( ̄へ ̄)
yes i totally agree lol! jiheon's rationale makes complete sense to me, and if i were in his position i would 100% be in denial and just trying to bury the way i feel. plus, when thinking of the logistics... getting into a relationship with the athlete you are managing (who just signed onto your company) is hella risky and certainly not the most professional thing to do. nevermind the fact that you guys have a little history with each other!
emotionally, jiheon's a relatable character to me. at one point in the novel his sister describes him as a perfectionist that fakes being nonchalant (or something like that lol). inside hes stressing tf out!!!!

Am I the only one who finds the Omega insufferable? Hes soooooo in delusional denial about his own self, its driving me crazy.
