It was because their first time together was an accident, Chase was in a rut and Joshua just happened to be the nearest omega, I’m pretty sure. Cause Joshua had protected him before. He got pregnant because of the rut, and which made it intentional of getting an omega pregnant. He won’t get pregnant again unless Chase ruts him. I don’t think Joshua told him about their son because Chase didn’t remember what happened and they never saw each other again afterwards until now
