now that i reread ur question it all make sense now
it's been awhile since I read the novel so I can't remember if the top gets taller (I think he does but take that with a grain of salt), to answer if there's SA this might be a spoiler for others but I'll try to keep the spoilers to a minimum:
the story has a fair amount of sexual coercion between the 2 main characters, Ian takes advantage of Michael simply cuz he's naive and uneducated about alot of things. there's also child abuse and rape in the story when we learn more about the characters past. I need to reread the last 2 volumes cuz I don't remember much from them since I read the novel back in 2020 but I can say that Ian takes advantage of Michelle a fair amount in the story since Michelle is pretty naive and kind of childish with how the world works.
with that said you'll learn why Ian is the way he is as the story develops, there are parts of the story that might be potently triggering for some people to read so I'd definitely advise people to read the story carefully as it's not all sunshine and rainbows.
