I am uncertain what to think about Jiwoo. Apparently, her marriage is a classic "lavender wedding"—a sham—as she and her husband neither communicate, cross paths, nor interact outside of business meetings and matters.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have no intention of whitewashing her reputation or her actions. I am simply curious: what made her do it? Was it a life situation, external threats, pressure, simple greed, or perhaps part of a clever long-term plan?
This ambiguity makes her pursuit of Iseul even more confusing. The author makes it clear that if Jiwoo is not in love, she is at least definitely obsessed with her. She stalked Iseul and, for years, calmly watched as the woman she claims to love drowned herself in alcohol, spiraling downward mentally, without intervening.
This begs the fucking question: what was the purpose? Why is Jiwoo so cruel? Where was she all this time, and why has she only appeared now? Damn it, what are her true motives and history?
To be honest, the relationship between Iseul and Sori doesn't impress me either. Their dynamic is a constant cycle of hiding things and taking out their resentment, anger, and jealousy on each other. It is an exhausting emotional roller coaster.
I just want everyone to address their own issues individually. They need to clearly explain their situations, take responsibility for their actions, and only then attempt to build a healthy relationship. As it stands, the entire situation is like a circus.ヽ(`Д´)ノ
