I have been reading yaoi since forever and lately everytime I read any, especially these past few months almost every comment is talking about how their disappointments that there is no switching when it was never stated there would be. Instead of going to look for the ones that have tags about switching or looking for recommendations for switches, they go onto regular yaoi stories and complain. It has gotten annoying and makes me not want to read the comments anymore. The comment section used to be a fun read but now it’s flooded with the same comments.
Not saying that I don’t like a good switch, but I don’t comment on every one I read saying how I’m disappointed or was clickbaited when there isn’t one. I go look for recommendations that have switch couples instead.

Your comment also made me realize there is one thing in common with commenters on ig and commenters on mgg, they both disregard preferences lol I've been fighting with homophobes on ig and keep telling them that you can't hate on a person just because of their own preferences in love and here on mgg, we have these "i know more about gay people than gay people themselves" who keep on pushing the narrative that they know better about a character's position/preference, these stories are made up by artists who already have a vision in mind about what these characters PREFER, why fcking question that if you weren't even a part of the process in creating these stories? Like atp, I just want everyone to shut up and respect other people's preferences, if you like it then that's good, if you don't then that's okay, just leave, keep your thoughts to yourself and live on with your life.

Anyway, as someone who is gay and has a strict role and position preference, people online who talk about how switching is the only “actual gay representation” are just annoying cunts who feel as though they are somehow more progressive in their perversions than everyone else when sex is a morally neutral act. Switching isn’t more or less common than any other sexual act. If you open Grindr right now you will see people list things like their body type, age, how big their dicks are, their position preference, etc. BDSM sites like FetLife where gay kink positive people meet get explicit with positions, D/s roles, and kinks. Lesbians even have traditional butch/femme dynamics. None of these things are “heteronormative” because the function of that word relies on HETEROSEXUAL RELATIONSHIPS within the patriarchy being viewed as the only correct way for a man and woman to be. You are not “heteronormative” if you as a fem gay man only like it up the ass, or as a masc butch are stone and only like giving pleasure to a femme. Gay sex cannot be heteronormative because it is inherently subversive—ask an Evangelical Christian if you’re being heteronormative for only liking strict top/bottom dynamics or if you’re more “real” as a gay person for switching and they’d just tell you you’re going to Hell.
You people need to get real problems and go have actual gay sex instead of trying to shame what you presume to be women (because I caught that misogynistic undertone you losers all have) for reading BL. And mind you, if women didn’t write and draw BL you would have woefully little to read.
