Enzo is used as a sacrifice to teleport ruby to ceaser, back to their temple or whatever so that he can have her all to himself without her husband being in the way.

He does die. Izek goes with the dragon and attacks the temple and kills cesear. Also they sacrifice enzo thru a spell the queen helps with. The queen basically baits ruby to come to her and "hang out" at the palace and enzo dies from something like witchcraft preformed by the queen where i think using a chosen sacrifice it can teleport a person to a specific location.
