warning: this is gonna be really wordy LMAO

i cannot be the only one who finds hill so unlikeable now. he used to be such a sweet angel and i loved him so much. now he's actually the most selfish bastard i've ever seen. it's crazy how hypocritical he is. his family (including his brother that he's sooo obsessed with) treated crispin so terribly when he was being held captive by hill's family. he was continuously starved, abused and drugged for a very long time. now that the script has flipped, all of a sudden hill is acting like he's such a victim, and that crispin is evil or some bullshit, when he just wants to marry the one he loves. where was that same energy for crispin? crispin was constantly getting whipped and kicked by this older brother of his, but when ivan is finally getting jsut the tiniest bit of punishment, he gets so upset, and yet, he did not show even close to that amount of sympathy for crispin. mind you, crispin's entire family was slaughtered and raped by hill's family before this too.

hill takes literally no accountability for anything, and instead runs away from his problems, thereby creating more. hill absolutely owes his CHILD care and love. the fact that he's selfishly always only putting himself and his older brother (who is a war criminal) first above everyone else shows how terrible of a person he is. hill calling crispin selfish was actually just straight up disgusting. after every single selfless act he did for everyone? you call HIM selfish? actual bastard. it's crazy how hill has been so goddamn selfish this entire time, prioritising only his so-called 'freedom' over everything else, and yet he doesn't have a single ounce of self awareness.

his apathy towards his baby and crispin is so crazy to me, especially seeing how he was at the start of the manhua. what happened to the hill who cared for crispin who was being held captive, even tho crispin had literally threatened to murder him and his family? now when crispin is treating him amazingly well, he just completely switched up. crispin deserves better lol. i honestly would have preferred him finding someone else, because clearly hill does not care about him or their child. i'm so disappointed with the direction this manhua has gone.

You should just reread the entire story since it seems you don’t get how hill changed. You also got a few points wrong. From the prologue it shows a war had taken place and hostages were taken. Those omega hostages were given to the nobles to do with what they please. The king and brother were the ones who gave those orders but didn’t rape any of them. Don’t get nobles and royals mixed up. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying what they did was right, but the facts should be accurate. It’s the nobles of that country that raped the hostages, not hill’s family.

Now onto this point you made, “he did not show even close to that amount of sympathy for crispin.” False. The ENTIRE Season one was literally Hill being kind, showing sympathy and wanting to treat him well. He made sure to give Crispin food and drinks multiple times, gave him bedding, wanted him to sleep in the bed, stopped his brother from hitting him more than once, saved Crispin from being attacked by the assassin, begged his brother to save Crispin, told his own father that he was against attacking the other country.

Now to talk about the events and why hill changed: Starting from chapter two, hill was raped and marked by Crispin. The smoke shell the brother sent out affected omegas only and he mistakenly thought Crispin was an omega. Hill went into heat and Crispin had enough time to think “should I push him away?” But chose not to do so and used this opportunity. Even then, hill didn’t take offense and just regarded it as an accident, not blaming anyone but himself for initiating in his non-sober state. He had a happier personality, but as he realized he was controlled by everyone, he became more and more depressed. His father which purposefully made him get pregnant, his brother who chose to get rid of to abort the child. He’s been having his decisions made for him all his life. He has said more than once that he is a powerless omega and it’s true because his fate is always decided by others.

Chapter 27, he asks if Crispin loved him. Crispin decided to say “how could I love the enemy.” Which likely crushed any hope Hill had. Hill decided to LEAVE and RAISE the child alone. He failed anfter being chased from both his people and the citizens after the reward and it solidified more that he didn’t think he was capable of raising the child. Chapter 36 blatantly states his view. He has always wanted to have freedom. Since season one even Crispin noticed this when he looked at all the paintings Hill made of a bird flying free. But hill also made other VALID points like being unable to raise the child, and that if crispin’s country knew the blood that flows through the child is their enemy’s the child would have a bad life. Let alone Crispin getting together with the enemy. Hill KNOWS Crispin has the people, funds, and family to protect the child than he can.

Adding onto that, let’s review more of the things that happened to hill to make him miserable:

He almost overdosed on pills. He almost got raped by his ex-fiance. As he’s pregnant he has to be on the run again and even got injured. Then had to be in a comatose state. He also lost the life he knew and family in a way. Leaving him with his only remaining brother, like Crispin who only has a brother. Of course Hill doesn’t want his brother to die or be hurt because he knows his brother was the only one that cared for him his entire life. That’s not someone you can let go so easily over the new person you love. And it’s not like Ivan is getting no punishment. He has no status, no home country, is disabled now, and has to live in hiding forever. He got his karma.

For all you know, hill is suffering from postpartum depression. He also thought of suicide before hand. In his eyes he goes from one alpha to another to decide what his life should be like. Regardless they made a DEAL where hill gives birth to the child and Crispin lets him be free. Hill went through a lot as well, but conveniently readers forget that. It is no surprise his personality is no longer lively anymore.
