I've been a bisexual Top for almost 20 yrs and have had this conversation with friends and exes that are switches and have never had of any of them tell me they suddenly wanted to experience being topped without the premeditation to do so. I mean, I guess anything is possible but I personally don't allow room for someone to even have the idea of touching my ass, lol. I don't knock it, obviously, I appreciate those who do but it's just not me. I feel like there's this misguided idea against men who engage in same sex intimacy of always having the potential of switching positions and that’s most definitely not the case. I've had quite a few deal breakers when trying to date some really good people in the past. Luckily, I've been fortunate enough to stay friends with some. Even so, it's not the type scenario I want to read so I'm hoping this story either doesn't go that route or gets really creative.
I do agree that switching sex roles requires communication and doesn't happen on a whim at all, but linking being penetrated to dignity is a very odd thing to do

I think the issue is not a top trying to bottom as that happens often even irl, but that the top not having the option to choose so to begin with and is forced to magically prefer bottoming over topping even tho it was his preferred position for all his adult life

Yes, I agree and in that case I would prefer seeing the Ji-chan compromise and bottom here but unfortunately that's not what's gonna happen.

But I meant his overall dignity in addition to protecting his hole, not his dignity because of his hole, lol. If not, I'd prefer to see him stand his ground by protecting his dignity and hole, but I know better than to have any realistic expectations in these fictional scenarios. I can’t ever get into the whole delusional "Top miraculously chooses to Bottom, and loves it" trope. It's just straight up disrespectful to pressure others to be someone they're not so I hope that won't be the case here.
Ultimately, I like the art and always appreciate a new smutty drama fic so I'm hoping this turns out to be good.
