He wants that cookie sooo badly

Just went to the authors insta and they made an illustration where he hugs he in the rain puts his nose on her neck/shoulder. Like bro...

I think he in fact likes her (he said it himself to the detective), but his kind of liking is different from normal liking cause he obviously has mental issues (probably antisocial personality disorder) so it is not even like his brain can produce the feelings of love the way neurotypical people do. He likes her romantically in my opnion, but his liking concept is far different from normal people. His way of liking her seems similar to the liking of the objects he collects, but also different as she is a human so it is not like he can treat her the same as a pen.

Besides even him seem confused. That chapter she said "why? Cause I shine?" And he looked at her speechless and then was shown with his hand on his face looking like he was in deep thoughts. Then he went outside with her and said "This is the first time I wanna protect something. I did not notice because I never felt like this before" so it seems like what he feels for her is not total the same as what he feels for the objects.

I really like when works explore different kinds of love, from people that do not process emotions in a neurotypical way. And it reminds me how destructive and cruel it can be. I think ot is even better cause he does not have a sobbing sad past, so it focuses on his mind. It is not a response to trauma, but trully a mental condition.
