NOOOO BC I WAS LITERALLY JUST THINKING ABOUT THIS. like i was wondering why i don't feel so connected to jo & ian's story even though he's the "better" option. and i realised its bc i literally have no idea why jo even likes ian. WHY is that guy ready to give up everything for a man that he recently met? what is it about ian that he loves so SO much? i love ian a lot but its bc as a reader i've seen his past, i've seen his struggles, i've seen how sweet he is w toby, i've seen his forgiving side etc etc etc. and yeah jo knows a lil bit about ian but not to the extent that explains when he's like. im gonna kill for this guy. for a manhwa that's so well written it comes off as a lil stupid ngl. on the other hand, i totally understand why ian likes jo, since jo is pretty likeable and has done a lot for ian. similarly even if people think that ian never actually loved tj (or even vice versa) (i do think there was/is love between them but yk people can interpret it differently) we still know why they are unable to let go of each other. there's a reason behind the obsession. meanwhile jo's feelings for ian fall flat. also i agree w everything else u said too !!! (& wdym used to be r u not anymore )
yea i feel like a jo chapter that explains his love for ian is kinda needed for me to connect with him. ('used to' because Team Tj kinda meant youre rooting for him to end up w ian, now i dont even know if i really want that to happen, i still am rooting for his happiness but overall idk if i want them to be endgame just bc i think he needs to grow first <3)
mm yeah same but idt we're getting it. also yeah i totally get it,, i actually was glad bc tj had been getting sm development, we saw it when he sold the house in california (ik it was bc he needed funds but i also took it as him finally moving out of j*son's influence) and also when after the funeral he realised that he wants ian to be safe instead of wanting him back w him in the gang, hence why he disappeared. he also had this monologue where he admitted that he had been capitalising on ian's guilt bc he thought that was love. what i don't get is why all of this growth went flying out of the window as soon as their recent reunion happened. like he was back on the same come back we can go back to the way we were bs like girl have u learnt NOTHING but also i guess it's to show growth isn't always linear?? i also remember that back when he acknowledged the things he's done to ian he said smth like "but u don't really need to know that, do you?" as in he still wasn't ready to tell ian about all of it. but then during the reunion ian himself told him that he's known all along, so at least everything's out in the open now? idk. anyw i would honestly be rly happy for ian if he ends up w jo bc he deserves smth nice, but then i'd be so fucking sad for tj LMAOOO which is why im rly confused. also unless tj does something monumentally bad i dont get how ians gonna move on from him..... (fingers crossed he does NOT mess up badly bc boy am i worried). SORRY FOR THE LONG YAP IM SO SORRY
its ok, its always nice to talk to someone who is passionate about something. looking forward to more of this story. (though admittedly i am purposefully keeping this manhwa at arms length bc i have a bad feeling its going to hurt really badly)
ive come back to this manhwa as someone who used to be team TJ (bc i really love his design and as a character) and here are my thoughts after reading new chapters.
i think Ian still really loves TJ so much and i dont think he loves Jo at all, or at least not right now (ok maybe he likes him a little). i dont even know if i want him to end up with anyone, i feel like some serious development with both sides needs to happen to give me a satisfying ending. If TJ is endgame, he needs to choose Ian by leaving all this gang life behind by accepting that Ian WILL love and HAS loved him even without all of his power in the gang. And for Jo to be endgame, Ian has to let TJ go, and there needs to be some serious timeskip with Ian actually falling in love with Jo bc theres a lot of things he needs to unpack and i think Jo deserves it. also i still dont understand why Jo is so inlove with Ian but yea. overall interested in how this turns out.
