The black tiger dies when he gets hunted and killed by humans in his tiger form. He was known as a neighbour or traveller and Cheong's grandma happened to have a conversation with him one day (when he was in a human form) about the protector of Beakdu mountain and how to find him and to avoid a creature with blue eyes etc.
