To sum things up, basically, the bottom separates from the top, years go by and he falla in love and marries some other guy and gives birth to new kids with that person. He never speaks again to the top or his old baby. Basically he cuts them both out his life starts a new family and lives happily ever after as if they never existed.
Now, all that wouldn't be so bad if at least the top goes on to find his own happiness - but nope. The top can never move on from the bottom, lives a miserable rest of his life with broken heart, depressed, and never the same again. If I remember correctly, they also said the son grows up resentful of his mother for abandoning them and tries to help his father but nothing can mend him. Their situation just ends up sucking basically.
I don't know what the author was on, but I'm not into self-torture and I don't see why bother getting us invested in their relationship if it's not going to be worth anything in the end.

Thats not what happens at all... so I think you were spoiled incorrectly. Its a stressful situation, yes. But they do end up back together with no one "cheating" in the most recent chapters (79).
