Yeah it’s very unclear It happens in Ch 5. When ML confronts MC, MC is scared and says like part of the reason he stayed was because he liked ML. ML tells him to come back and live with him, and MC mistakenly takes it as sugar dating. ML then clarifies he needs his cat form for like the next month or two for filming to not upset fans/public since the thought he abandoned the cat.
So technically it was like a mistake, but ML wants to keep it going I guess since he likes MC, and MC feels guilty so he’s going along with it
