It's possible that Kiriki and Eve switched bodies/roles. Eve might have been the previous saintess, and Kiriki the previous Demon lord ^^ There's a hint on one of the panels, (specifically pg. 8) where Eve's wearing a veil.
I should've known when Gozu said that the saintess looked similar to Eve... Looks like the answer was right in front of us
