I agree and disagree, on a surface level it could’ve just been fluff but the way the story was set up (and I mean backstory wise with Jiho, his personal relationships, and his character itself), there’s no way this story could be fluff if it were to be well-written and deep.

In general though, you are right that toxic stories are more popular, nothing wrong with that though as long as it’s well-written

Yes the uke back story is a pain in the ass and since they are just high schooler and don't know any better it's hard to sort things out. But in general the story has a really a lot of potential to be fluff if the uke knows how to play his card rights and not to indulge on his ego and anger so much but rather to think everything thoroughly. Plus the misunderstanding between the mc and the uke make the story much worst in the surface personally there's a lot of necessary scenarios in the story that should never been came back in the first place, the author tend to milk of the uke misery and then again the seme misunderstands everything with no ending loop . I don't know why some authors of yaoi stories like to make the uke life miserable so much but whatever makes the story stay float and popular I guess.
