Real when she could have gotten a promotion but stayed thats fine she could have said lots of things like I want to be where its the hardest or i dont want to level up too fast or ANYTHING but 'my rival is here and i want to beat him' bc why tf did you make him your one sided rival??? You are a woman in the army wake tf up and stop making your purpose some guy???
Well her original goal was to join that battalion (the one Mc is in) because it's an incredibly difficult one and she got the same special promotion offer he did. Her original goal is to work her way up quickly and advance cause she wants to get strong, like her dad. She never thought someone like MC would also end up there and get the same special treatment etc so ofc she would treat him as her rival since they essentially have the same goal.
BUT. I do agree she serves no purpose lol she's literally there to be a connection to her strong dad who has a daughter complex and be a possible love interest. She had a lot of potential in the beginning to be a cool, strong FMC but alas the writing in these series for women is always trash. They always dumb them down to damsels just to make MC stand out as the absolute strongest who saves everyone. by her own right she's clearly strong, she has become a sergeant in record time as well.
I dont see how you disagree with me. Her original goal was great but just because she is jealous of some other stronger guy its okay to have given that reason? No? No one in their right mind would put a semi hold in their career to beat some guy and the author would have neeeeever ever in a thousand years written that if she wasn’t a woman. Her new goal is her rival because she is a woman. Because her character's development is unimportant because she is fated to like mc.

I said that because you said she turned down promotions/put her goals aside and she has not done that. She turned down joining the STF, or whatever special hunter unit that's also trying to recruit MC. She's accepted all the promotions she's gotten within the hunter corps, which she is trying to stay in, because its the same battalion her father was in previously in and she's following in his footsteps. MC just so happens to be her current "closest" goal to surpass on her way to becoming great like her father.
Is her answer a little dumb? yeah, but that's women's fate in a male dominated series, we all know this lol also they've recently made her start blushing AT ALL TIMES and it's so tragic.
Tbh. Blue girl is useless to the story' s development. Everytime I see her I just roll my eyes. She is supposed to be this school and strong woman. But at the end all she does is blushing non-stop as well as shaping her life around MC character. I mean she doesn't have any goal or anything... Didn't she have Dreams before MC appeared? Cause now all she does is needlessly interfering when he needs to do sum...
How can they make someone intended to be powerful so weak and useless.
