I think Yeon’s original red-string mate was the lady sunbae in chapter 18, but he forced the string to tie itself to someone who was supposed to remain unbound which is Kihoon, a Red Blazing Soul who is currently suffering and enduring all the curses coming to him.
And I’m afraid that Yeon might break up with Kihoon or cut/untie their string once he’s sent back to the present. After seeing what their fate showed him about their past lives, he might decide to end it because he doesn’t want to make Kihoon’s life harder anymore. He might blame himself for binding someone who wasn’t supposed to be bound and causing Kihoon so much suffering.
Hopefully, everything will be okay. No more angst. Let the angel and the clown live happily ever after.
