you realize that even gay people in america face discrimination, right? It's illegal to be gay in a lot of U.S states. sure there's a lot of openly gay people in america and being gay is more acceptable than in korea but gay people in america still face discrimination, hatecrimes, and even get beat up and killed for being gay. it's understandable for jiwon and anna wanting to be "normal", straight. a lot of gay people wish this. being gay is hell, the world hates you just for existing. It's not strange that jiwon and anna hooked up despite both of them being gay. this shit happens in real life allll the time. lavender relationships/marriages are common. jiwon and anna desperately wanted to be "normal", so they fooled around, anna accidentally got pregnant.

I think that making a very openly gay character and then having them move to America just to have sex with a woman is a very strange thing to do but I guess it works?
