Naming the imae out of kindness yes since the mc hasn't been named by his parents but naming can also be out of selfishness cause it does bring a sort of possession on the person they have named. Like the saying 'oh but I was the one that named you.' With pets or kids they're often named by their owners and parents as a sign of yk connection and ownership. Something like that but it can be interpreted as kindness or out of selfishness even after saying he'll let the imae go. To have some sort of hold on to him or evidence that was left on purpose to remind the imae of him and of them.
And also it prevents people like Garon from naming the mc 'officially' - to have the name ingrained in his eyes that was given to him by Garon because he got named already as Roha by this... guy. The second male lead is like 'ohh ill let you go then but ill name u first tho.' LoL
It was totally selfish. Hoe could have at least asked if the Imae even LIKED the name. Can you imagine being given this name that’s now ingrained in your eye, so you can never fully get rid of it, and you don’t even like the name??? That would be terrible lol. Idk if he does like it or not but I for sure fucking hate it because it feels like parts of the 2nd male lead’s name smooshed together
