Okay, I have come back after a short research and I think you may be right lol. A lot of photos of male body builders have them in the centering area but there’s also a lot of photos where they look like they’re pointing outward or set off to the site. It looks more common on the super crazy overly built guys and also while they’re flexing than on more leaner built muscles but I imagine a lot of authors use the extreme examples to draw from precisely because they can see the muscle lines better
