He admitted to himself that he wanted her to feel a little shame, probably because their mother died and she was blamed. Like…. He’s grown now, I know when younger he just assumed shes cool with the bullying because she likes it, and not because she’s enduring so they love her and keep her.
But not coming to that conclusion that it was BOTH the families treatment and the royal family is wild. He really sat there like, “oh it’s because the royal family treating her like that.. that’s the reason she won’t come back!” Is minimizing his guilt that’s slowly putting pressure in him.

You know, not to be at his defense, bullying doesn't always mean the person hates their target(s). In some ways, it's either insecurity for their own inadequacies, deep down love is truly there, manipulated from a young age to act so cruelly (following the crowd so to speak).
Bullying doesn't come from hatred all the time. In Jade's case, there could be more than just his torment towards Olivia. I don't think he is acting like a victim but he is quite too late make things up. Unlike Estella who was pressured heavily, as a young adult, into the misunderstanding of her mother's death correlating with Olivia showing up. Which was why she was easier to forgive because she realized in time she made a mistake and begged Olivia for forgiveness.
Jade realizing too late his actions left a permanent scarring that not even time can tell when she can forgive him. I will say, out of the two brothers, he is a near decent one compared to the other.
