just finished reading the novel and i stand by this thought. but the plot itself definitely doesn’t disappoint.
yall always hate on woman no matter what they do, either they get called a mary sue or a doormat, shes literally trying to be compassionate and mother daughter relationships can be very complex, it makes her more human to be helpful and save them but here you go calling her weak and useless. I wonder if you think about woman in real life like that so vile and mean
i just see my own relationship w parents reflected and her and can’t stand it when authors write in the typical emotionally and physically abusive mothers and sisters trope that always results in the fl “being the bigger person” and forgiving them because of kind treatment from when they had a good relationship while discounting everything else they put them through. i mean the children aren’t even real kids so if they are already not human it’s already too late to save them. and idk what my personal takes on fictional characters in writing have to do with my actual thoughts and considerations regarding women in real life but that’s all you tho ig
