Actually, yeah. I used to absolutely hate the genre ngl.
I'm a transgender man, so like... Omegaverse often feels really fucking gross to me, cause wdym the Omega has to be a bottom every time?? Like holy, I haven't seen a work that has tackled the (secondary) gender dysphoria in Omegaverse without having the character succumb to their pheromones regardless. Oftentimes through rape.
Like it's not the exact same, but it kinda feels like shit. Idk if that makes sense?
But generally it also feels sorta like the whole idea that- "Women are nothing but a man's sex slave" -and just.... twisting it so it's not exactly that. IDKKK there's probably all sorts of conversations that have been had about it. Just always felt really fucking weird to me.
I also may just have not read enough Omegaverse yet to find one that actually treats that exact issue with respect and dignity, but yeah. I think I just became desensitized to it though, cause now I read some regardless... Sigh
Holy… I checked out Unromantic and it is absolutely the sort of thing I have been looking for!
Also I think you said the name twice on accident? But is it possibly you meant “Define the Relationship”? Because I remember reading that one, and my god its such a masterpiece….
The art, the subject, I actually forgot about it since I read it so long ago- perhaps it’s time to revisit it?
Regardless, thank you so much!!! Unromantic definitely challenges the whole concept in a unique way! I didn’t expect the lore itself to be that omegas are the top of society… I love it so far :D

I wonder how the author's gonna go from this aueueueue... I love their previous works (it's such a gem, leykkkk!!)
omegaverse is such a sensitive genre, so hmmm (I hate the dynamics in omegaverse cuz it's like omegas are like women irl, u guys get it?)
