Isn't it so interesting how they've got the same face but we regard Taehee as a pretty boy? I've been thinking about it, and I think for me, I'm attracted to "pretty boys" or men with feminine vibes and a strong personality because they feel more familiar.
I've seen quite a few people in the comments call Taehee overdramatic, sensitive, annoying. And these are all stereotypical critisisms women receive simply for dealing with trauma, the burden of societal expectations and patriarchy. Women often also get misdiagnosed with bpd because of this and vilified. Because people refuse to acknowledge the catastrophic effects of the patriarchy and pin the blame to women to preserve their own power.
Here, Taehee just wants to be himself and loved as he is by his father. He's been heavily emotionally and physically abused in his childhood and never received any support. His behaviour now is driven by the burden of expectation of his father. He fears abandonment and has got a fragile sense of identity because he's learnt from a young age to seek validation from him, otherwise he is worthless and deserving of punishment.
Isn't that resemblant to how women are told they need a man beside them to be complete? Taehee is sensitive, emotional, expressive and verbal. He's torn between pursuing who he wants to be and gaining his father's approval. His desperation and sttuggle triggers people to critisise him the way they do a woman, and I think that's what's giving him a feminine vibe and making him attractive, at least to me. Beyond the fact that he's just more playful.
