I don’t know, as a POC it’s the very last thing I was thinking about. I’m not thinking much on it unless it becomes a pattern which I doubt it’ll be. For your own comfort I just wouldn’t finish the story ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

No, I like the story. LOVE the story, actually. I just refuse to sit back and watch people gaslight those of us with melanin simply because they have the privilege to never have to think about the implications.
I thought the same and was disappointed too. Even in Full Volume, the villain was a tanned Korean man, even colorism is shown. Shioko-san
And I'm TIRED of it. I wanna enjoy a story as much as the next person without thinking of the optics, but it's almost 2026. Mangaka's cannot be absolved of colorism or racism simply for being "from a different culture"; the internet exists, and they very much have access to it

That’s a totally valid way to think honestly, I hope that this doesn’t become so,etching they’re known for this is the first story of theirs I’ve read so I’ll keep an eye out because I’d hate for this to become an issue!
It's weird that the first dark skin character we encounter is a rapist. Full stop.
And if anybody in the comments wants to "not everything is about race" me, I got nothing but time to clown you (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
