originally, ixor thought there was no real harm if he breaks it off since the castle is far away and, as he mentioned, soldiers will take very long to reach them. but the nearby armies that the princess threatened to summon will disrupt the preparation they are doing. they cannot afford any distractions at this time.
Weren’t they just talking about how he’s not marrying her then suddenly it’s “let’s move up the engagement”..?
