Not sure how far into the story you are, but there's been continuous mentions that Yuta gets raped by his son in law and another scene where he had to have sex with Saeunghyan in front of his extended family in law (though TECHNICALLY he consented to that). If you can't handle this kind of intensity then it's probably best to drop this story, since the foreshadow heavily implies Yuta has been spending his entire life selling off his body (even after being freed from prostitution) and there will likely be flashback scenes as well.
Man, thanks for the psa what a shame bc I was hoping this wouldn't be anything like pearl boy even tho I've never read it, kinda sad bc the art looks really good but I can't stomach scenes like that, hopefully the author makes something that's alot more tamer in the future because this art is beautiful.
I saw that one where they did it in front of some old men, WTF. Why? And I thought Yuta was free from that kind of thing after marrying some random? No? I didn’t read properly so forgive me…
It’s not that I can’t handle it, I’m just bored and tired of this same trope so I would rather have spoilers. I’ve seen worse like No Reason, Zero Sum, etc.
It’s more of hoping the author doesnt pull the same rape fest like in Pearl Harbor. But if it does, oh well, just disappointment is it. The art is so nice though
Pearl boy was just trash after the good beginning. The rape I mean. I can stomach it but I’m so tired of this rape trope, especially towards the bottoms. I’m not hating author nor would I condemn any mean stuff but I am only disappointed with the poor writing, it seems this is their core.
Art is amazing! glad we agree. I’m still gonna read or skim through, I have been following this author for a while now. Love or hate relationship lol
I'm pretty sure he married into that family with the people knowing he was a former prostitute (though my memory is a bit blurry, so take this info with a grain of salt). After his husband passed away though, I'm pretty sure that's when the rape started and the family as a whole is pretty obviously fucked up.
For me it’s more like, oh I don’t really wanna read this, it’s either boring or just too angst (I usually try to avoid reading sad stories because idk, I’m sensitive and I don’t like crying), but my brain tells me to see the end of the story if you know what I mean.
You’re quite brave for wanting to read for the psychological aspects! I do too but I also think it doesn’t need to involve a rape fest. Regardless, I find myself focusing on the expressions a lot and it’s to the point I get tired of it, I don’t want to, but I need to before moving onto next panel. Especially in rape scenarios, is the author drawing proper trauma expression, is this just porn, etc. Heavily concluded by the sfx, expressions, and more.
If I ever do feel too horrible, I try to tell myself that they’re all just lines, all just a drawing. It helps a lot! Separating fiction and reality is important.
What would you rate this story? Or how do you feel about it so far?
Not sure about rating, but so far I'm 'meh' about the story. The concept in general is pretty interesting, but the author is really vague when it comes to the characters inner focus. I'm not sure if it's to represent confusion (since humans have fragile sanity, they won't be able to internally put their thoughts to words and thus it relies on instinct) or if it's just... poor writing. Hopefully it's the first one, because it always feels unrealistic when characters just have everything internally figured out because I personally wouldn't be able to process such a traumatic appearance like that.
I feel you on that, based in the reviews I've read uke goes through sm unnecessary setbacks, even amazing art can't save plots like that sometimes. I feel like it cna be fixed with mkre depth ratherythan consistently showing scenes where characters get tortured, but yeah hopefully I'll get to read something I actually like from this author.

I do not want to see Yuta’s past scenes as a prostitute. Now if it was consensual, I wouldn’t mind even if it’s with another person. But the whole trauma is connected with his prostitution, forced prostitution to be specific! That is disgusting and I don’t want to see.
Also I remember a scene where there’s a bunch of guys shadows, and there is a guy in the center, who is it? Has it been revealed yet? Better not be some love rival antagonist.
I finished reading Pearl Boy, and I hate the amount of times the bottom got raped by others. Seung and Yuta already sexually assaulted each other here, I hope there are no scenes of Yuta being assaulted by others.
Spoil me about anything. I don’t think I will ever properly read this, just skim through it but I also read fast, the memory just does not retain long enough. I have some processing sensory issue. It takes me a while, so bear with me.
This is why I love reading spoilers before I read the story. I feel omniscient and due to my condition.
