i mean isnt that how the author meant for it to be portrayed? without reading the novel or spoilers, this manhwa is just 30 chapters of a seemingly innocent man getting violently raped. Ofc when you find out what jiwook did, juyeon’s actions are more understandable, but so far you can’t really blame the readers for sympathizing with jiwook.
ppl in the comments have mostly gotten the spoilers already. almost every day someone responds to someone asking for spoilers. the title is also “Revenge” so with a modicum of common sense you already know juyeon was the original victim. it feels like everyone’s empathy stops short of the actual victim. like y’all can see this portion of the story and think “this is awful”, but can’t then infer that what juyeon went thru was worse? he was a child so it’s worse. as a victim, it makes me sick to think ppl have more empathy for an abuser than for a victim. i don’t think that was the point the author was trying to make— “any abuse is bad” — like y’all are so morally shortsighted. i don’t read rape yaoi other then this one bc of the moral quandary it poses. to see so many ppl miss that is upsetting.

hot take: y’all only complain that what juyeon is doing to jiwook is “too far” or “not okay” bc you are seeing first hand what is happening to jiwook. if u saw it from juyeon’s perspective as a child, i promise you’d be even more horrified. y’all have empathy for the original abuser but i guess the line is drawn when it comes to a victim getting his lick back. unpopular opinion.
