A top can probably rape the uke but still has multiple defender and the uke could treat the top badly afterwards and you'll see people hating on the uke because how could the uke treat him like that? He is just trying to help.
Pick me shit right here

You're seriously naive if you think shaming victims and putting up with abusers is heteronormative. BL is full of this and is the norm in the genre, sadly. It's just stupid ass horny people looking at pain and romantazicing it.

ok I think it might’ve come off the wrong way but what I mean being heteronormative is that everyone is immediately rooting for the ML and hating on MC for standing his ground is deeply interwoven into the culture of heteronormativity where men’s actions are easily more forgivable. In this case, people are more eager to jump to ML’s defence because he’s the “top” synonymous with a “man” and it makes people more willing to vouch for him. Idk if what I said is understandable but this is what I meant

THIS! BL readers always do this and it's so disgusting how they would vouch for the tops who has done horrendous stuff to the uke but god forbid the uke do anything to the top

I understand what you mean and I agree, but that's precisely why I invite you to look for other terms when talking about literal homosexual relationships. That kind of dynamic is not based on the "man" as you clearly stated. It's abuse justification, and a good dose of "I can fix him". There are plenty of BLs where the same dynamic exists in reverse, and the tops get shamed the same way because the dominant and abuser/cheater/rapist was the bottom. These behaviours are not based on man against woman, and it would not be solved if society was more centered in homosexuality (become homonormative). At the center it is romantiziced stockholm syndrome, of which romance and erotica as a genre is full of, regardless if it is queer-centered (BLs) or female-centered romances (Dark Romance rebirth in the last decade).
