See I thought that too, but 1) it’s not realistic, 2) it’s burdensome for Dan and Jaek-dunghead realizes this, that his sudden feelings would be burdensome for Dan after all the abuse and trauma and 3) he promised Dan he’d let him go completely after he wins the match, which is definitely a bigger loss for him than the match.
To show he was truly sorry he should have held back longer till after the match. You know what? He should told Dan he doesn't care about the jinx and lose the match for him
