He's alright. I like that he has acknowledged MC is trying and decides to try with him. It must've been difficult for both sides to deal with silence and it make sense that he would be the one to break it.
He's still a recluse but I wouldn't ex0evt him to blurt out his business because that's not his style. It's going to stay awkward no matter how much they interact until the elephant in the room is addressed.
