Do you not know what SA even means..???? Rape/SA is literally doing stuff with no consent/clear consent. You gotta be so chronically online to believe there's. A genuine difference between SA and shit like noncon/dubcon as it's the same thing just a different font.?? LMAO
AND even then what would you call if someone stuck their face in your ass when you didn't actually give any ok at all???? Like it's fiction yes??but?? THATS SA?(????? LIKE?????))?????? Hell a literal textbook example of sa

you're right that the alpha's actions were predatory and a serious violation. the non-consensual scenting and the coerced encounter are clearly sexual assault. my initial point, which I may not have expressed clearly, was specifically about the use of the word "rapist."

I used "dubious consent" to describe the fiction trope the author employed: the pheromone coercion and conflicting signals (like when the omega grabbed his hair to hold him closer while alpha was giving coerced oral sex). it's a genre tag, not a defense.

and I used "SA" because, in strict legal definitions, "rape" often requires penetration. "sexual assault" is the broader, accurate term that fully applies here and is just as serious. I find it upsetting to label him a "rapist" when no rape was depicted. using that most extreme term for shock value, when the specific acts shown constitute sexual assault, can dilute the word's grave and specific meaning.

we can condemn a fictional character actions with precision. calling him a sexual assaulter fits the depicted acts exactly, without misusing a term whose specific weight matters, especially when discussing real-world crimes. that distinction was the core of my initial comment.

I get your point and do agree actually ! However I would've personally avoided the usage of the genre terms in this discussion. The usage of the genre terms and going "possibly SA" was alarming to see as like ... That scene did feature SA and the mc literally reacted in defense when it went too far for himself even if it was for comedic result. (which personally not huge on as like it just feels so immature as a long time reader to see for the billionth time....)

Anyways using those terms just came off as like? A deflection at first and I get why you used it now but it was just a poor choice since it just seemed super evasive/a way to downplay what happened and... I was also very much worried if those acts just didn't qualify as SA at all to you in the first place. Leading to my negative reaction as that was even more scary in general since.... I was just more alarmed and thinking "what the fuck bro do they not recognize that as sa??" Since it sadly came off that way at first with the "possibly" (Paired w/the fact we're here on this site it unfortunately wouldn't be smth new as sm users fail to even recognize racism/colorism that occurs in works they consume let alone SA....

I'm sorry for alarming you about this; it was my poor choice of words. I was just really upset by some of the comments that seemed to use the word "rapist" themselves just to shock people, sometimes even with accompanying memes. It makes me wonder if these people who "take SA seriously", really take it seriously or if it's just performance.
