Agreed! It unfortunately didn’t have what BJ Alex had and also came out when all those extreme psychological Manhwas entered the scene and were getting popular. Constant abuse, neglect, ignorance and all that stuff, there’s no saving a bland character regardless if the ML/antagonist is hot or is finding redemption or even if there’s a long chasing arc. It’s cringe to even see the MC being an easily won over doormat.
Exactly!!!!! I can't point my finger on what's missing in that story . These characters are literally 1 dimensional , no proper backstory, no thoughts, no working on the emotions, no depth whatsoever. Even the character in gumball has more depth than this manhwa characters lol . No philosophical depth nor emotional, just filling the whole board with man with bug muscles acting like a literal child all the time and people go crazy for it , counting hours and minutes for it to come out . What are they waiting exactly?!
My worry is when story like this gets hype like this other author might take inspiration from this shit and will addicted to the bare minimum storyline with smut every 2 chapters .
I think it’s because of this very reason that I’m seeing a huge increase in ppl asking for strong, buff or well matched ukes/bottoms/MCs because they too are sick of seeing broken little wimpy characters that lack a backbone or common sense. Just no personality at all other than having puppy eyes. I find myself skipping the smut as it just feels unpassionate, awkward and empty. I mean, especially when he *spoiler* had another person see them “together”, there’s no coming back from that.
Honestly, jinx doesn't deserve the hype it gets . The story is so mid and the ml and even MC are so bland like unseasoned boiled chicken and every chapter feels like something is missing in it .
Ignite the dawn is way better in my opinion. I mean yes the story is complex but actually worth the wait. I hope it gets hype it deserves once it gets the eng translation.
