To me it seemed more like his relationships with the other people where shallow and always ended, so he didn't want that for the kid and just wanted to remain as family since that would bind them together forever. So then that thot comes back into his life and pushes himself in and the other guy let's him because he thinks that way they can continue to be a family. But when he realizes that it didn't work and the kid starts avoiding him and almost sleeps with that one stranger he becomes extreamly jealous and nd desperate because he never thought of that possibility that they would be seperated. Thus they stay together and the story ends.
I'm kinda dissatisfied with the first story. I at least wanted a chapter told in Natsume's point of view since his decision in the end decided who ended up with who. I don't like how he said he could never forget about his ex-lover, then declare in public that he loves Asahi the most. I get it that forgetting ex-lovers are not as easy especially when they reappear in your life but I just really wanted Natsume's full thoughts about the situation.... Meanwhile, I can relate with Natsume being abused by the cats HE had picked up. I also picked up two strays on separate occasions but it annoys me how those two were more friendly and loving towards my older sister but give me (aka. their savior) the cold shoulders. I only ever received bites and scratches from those two but I can't completely hate them either as I'm a cat person.... ╥﹏╥
