I agree with you wholeheartedly, but in order to avoid spoilers, I'll just tell you that we'll barely see the side couple in the upcoming chapters.
Like, we see them once more in a less freaky way and then after that they're just part of the friend group, not the story.
The side couple is cute and all.. but why do we see more progress from them than the main story? Ngl that first chapter that established them felt so forcibly inserted imo.
