It's so sad. His feelings for Tate is real. While Tate clearly likes Hachi and Hachi feelings towards Mitsu is not something stem from love so the set up for Tate and Hachi coming to have mutal feeling for each other is clear. While Mitsu feelings are at the receiving end.
Rooting for Mitsu's happiness too, even if not with Hachi
I ended up feeling so sad for Mitsu because his childhood friend that he has been in love with for the longest time, whome he feels like he could not live without his cooking, is using him to get to his crush.
I am heart broken for him because I can see Tate And Hachi might fall for each other as Hachi's feelings are more of admiration for Mitsu. While Mitsu truly does love Tate, Tate does not feel the same way.
Mitsu is at the loosing end of all of this at least for now.
I am honestly rooting for Mitsu to have someone who loves him deeply. Hachi doesn't love him. Tate doesn't love him. It's just sad for him.
