I think what she means is the type of music they're doing. Or atleast her part of song is not the same style/genre that she likes??? Which is understandable. Artists aren't always practical with how they chase their dreams. Some wants to do it their own way and not compromise.
It’s not about being in the center it’s about her not staying true to herself and her music, I wish we could actually hear the songs so it’s easier to compare but I’m pretty sure what the band plays is very different which is why she’s so ingenuine
I still feel like the issue going on is surrounded by insecurity and shame . Like shes so hard on herself she doesn't allow for growth in a natural flowing way. Its not a big deal as a viewer to play a different genre of music. But for the FL its embarrassing to the point shes ashamed for her girlfriend to watch her preform.
Probably because she had to hide who she was when she was young and only relatively recently felt comfortable showing who she actually is in the way she dresses and the music she likes. And Aya helped her a lot in this regard. It's probably feels awful to feel like you're reverting back to hiding/not being true to yourself, and worse when the person who helped you open up sees you in that state.

Im lost fr ? I feel like if you are just starting out in music its not a big deal to play in a band, even if you arent the center, like to learn stage presence and like the flow of the industry. I feel like a lot of musicians start in a band then break away to do their own music once they are ready.
