"They're both equally wrong" I'm not denying the mc wrong doings but do we know what equally means? Surely youre not comparing manslaughter charges to multiple counts of kidnapping, all types of assault on multiple charges, human trafficking (which includes the counts of kidnapping, rape, sexual assult and forced pregnancy), abuse of a pregnant omega (technically its pregnant female but hey..), second degree murder and so much more i cant think of rn
I hate kloff as much as anyone who read the first season but you guys have to remember this is a different timeline, they are not quite the same kloff. So yes Aeroc deserves this version of kloff, this in both a good and bad way. They are both obsessed with each other, this is the healthiest it could get, both because kloff’s internalized homophobia for two alphas in love, got tampered by learning that aeroc is in fact an omega and by the fact that aeroc learned that forcing it isn’t the way.
So yes they both equally bad, both are not saints in that matter, the difference is they are not equal in terms of harms done to the other, kloff went too far in their previous lifetime, that is why personally I don’t think THAT kloff deserves a second chance at happiness.
This is not a matter of judgement, saying this kloff doesn’t deserve him or that he’s not worthy of this Aeroc is wanting to punish a man for something he could have done, because except being a dickhead, this kloff isn’t that bad, even I see it and I hated his guts after S1.
So to summarize, they are both obsessed and equally bad as persons, they are not on equal ground in harm done to the other. The first life is done, no redemption was even possible for kloff in the first place so anyways. I’m writing cause I felt that some of this was directed to my response under your comment.
i do think you are glossing it over by saying rapiels murder, while agree with your statement it wasnt a simple manslaughter it was him setting up a pregnant omega that ended up in rapiel not dying from murder but from being literally raped to death by multiple people then aeroc not feeling any form of guilt directly even when he drove past the scene before it unfolded reasoning that 'how could i have known' . i think first timeline kloff was undoubtedly his own form of evil but its difficult to decide what is disproportionate, i think because its told from aerocs perspective we end up sympathising with him more than we would if say the story was from rapiels perspective, that said i did cry for aeroc multiple times. also i think this timeline kloff should be treated as his own person, all the factors have been removed and a completely different person is formed, however i am sceptical of how s3 will be dealt..
Kloff is the one who came to his home to buy the establishment or invest or something along those lines. Also what chapter does he go to his funeral, I can’t find it.
You said people are glossing over what aeroc did, no one is glossing over what he did. He committed a horrible crime, but he did feel guilt and accepted his punishment. That is why people continue to like aeroc.
I didn't fully describe the circumstances of Rapiel's murder for the sake of brevity on an already very long comment, bot to minimize what happened to him. I also didn't fully describe what Kloff did to Aeroc.
The reason I say Kloff's actions are disproportionate is because when someone's loved one is killed, the responsible party is not handed to the victim's family to be locked in a shed, starved, raped, repeatedly impregnated for years, and then killed as a result of that physical torture. They are removed from society by being put in prison for a clearly defined amount of time.
We definitely sympathize Aeroc since it's his POV. I'm sure the story would look different from say, Rapiel's POV, or even Kloff's. I agree Kloff is his own person in this timeline, and I also find him deeply unlikeable in this one too haha childish, violent, and obsessive. (Ironic, since usually I love these kinds of tops in BL). I'm just looking forward to S3
Agreed. If Kloff had merely tortured or killed Aeroc, or abandoned him in the slums, no one would have objected, that would have been expected. But instead, he chose to rape and impregnate him while claiming it was out of “love for Raphael.” He’s a sick and twisted individual who used this to get what he wanted, aeroc as an omega.
The reason a lot of people continue to dislike Kloff in this timeline is because he still has a rape mentality. Hell he almost raped him to death in this timeline.
I said manslaughter because the mc intentions was only to scare the omega, I have no idea why or how he thought hiring thugs from the street was a good idea but he never outright planned his murder or his rape or the death of the unborn child so (with a good lawyer and s good defense) the lowest charge he'd get is conspiracy to commit assault, highest charge manslaughter. The other higher charges would be on the thugs themselves not on the mc. Meanwhile everything kloff did was 100% what he did not anyone else and its 100% what he intended to do nor did he feel guilty for

This story is great at revealing who believes in justice and who believes in fire and brimstone in the comments. Proportionate punishment to a crime is justice, disproportionate punishment to a crime is violence. Like paying a fine and doing community service for stealing bread vs getting a death sentence for stealing bread. It's interesting to explore punishment, atonement, redemption, and revenge by framing it in this 3-part reincarnation series. What does it mean to fully atone for one's actions? What does it take to forgive? Does internal suffering (feeling regret, shame, agony) contribute to punishment the same way external suffering does? Does saving Rapiel in this life make up for his murder in the last life?
What Aeroc did in his first life (and it's consequences) was unquestionably horrible, and he was punished for it by the narrative almost instantly (lost his status and wealth, lived on the streets starving and raped, faced humiliation and violence.) This is a classic karmic "you reap what you sow" and feels narratively appropriate and proportionate to his crime. He will never enjoy the luxury and comfort he once did. Lost his life for the one he took (unintentionally, but his responsibility regardless.)
What Kloff does to Aeroc in their first life is disproportionate to Aeroc's crime and is violence, but to fire and brimstone people, to "all sin is equal" people, the fact that Aeroc is tortured at Kloff's hands for decades feels deserved. How many times in the comments have I read "well Aeroc is no better than Kloff/they're equally bad"? One act of violence (Rapiel's murder) permits a lifetime of unspeakably brutal punishment? Even Kloff's own children were disgusted with him. He goes beyond the pale and I will always be a Kloff hater haha I can't stand how happy he is right now!
