It was at first but I like the way they wrote it that he fell for Captain Commander as someone else, as a different man altogether, not as the child he raised for two months. The person he loves as a man is different from the child he loved, so much so that he didn’t recognize him at all. I feel like disconnect makes all the difference.
The plot makes sense and well written but I just can’t bring myself to ship the mc and ml. It gives me the ick with the reminders Abel was his father figure. I wish they could have stayed found family
